When looking for a mortgage broker, consider the addtional security and expertise of the Accredited Mortgage Designation. Much like an accountant or financial planner, an Accredited Mortgage Professional has to meet a strict code of ethics and complete a serise of ongoing continued eduction programs.
The Canadian Association of Mortgage Professionals represents mortgage brokers across Canada and issues the certification and oversees the entire designation program. In addtion, the accreditation requires the broker be in the industry for a minimum of 2 years. Not all mortgage brokers are created equal. Ensure the one you work with is an Accredited Mortgage Professional - or AMP for short.
